What we're about

Interested in learning a fun new sport? Or wondered if I spelled volleyball wrong? Either way I'm glad you're here! We welcome anybody with or without volleyball/wallyball experience!

What is Wallyball?

Wallyball is basically volleyball in a racquetball room. It has the same basic rules, but you can use the walls! It's a lot more forgiving than volleyball and I've found out it's a great way to learn the sport too. You can also check out this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7dnx_HXVn4&feature=youtu.be&t=12s) to see wallyball in action!

What's Next?

Get yourself out on the court! As of now, Wednesday nights are $5 and Sunday afternoons are free to play. The way it works is that Rich gave me a guest pass which I paid for, so I'd have to be reimbursed for the $5. This helps Rich and I track how many people actually come out so we can possibly work towards a permanent fixed fee. I am not making any profit out of this, this is just to cover my cost that I paid.

With all the formalities out of the way, we hope to see you on the court! Feel free to ask any questions such as, "...is wallyball fun?" or "how are the conditions of the net?" Which the answer is, brand spanking new.

Wallyball Wednesday @ Eugene YMCA (All skills)

Eugene Family YMCA

Welcome, As of now, Wallyball Wednesdays are $5 if you're not a member. I have paid for multiple guests passes that cuts the price in half for guests. Unfortunately that means you'll have to either cash/PayPal/Google Wallet me $5. I am in no way making a single profit out of this. Rich wanted to avoid guests asking for "wallyball prices" aloud when he has denied swimmers and basketball players reduced fee. Feel free to PM me with any questions. Please bring comfortable gym clothes and knee pads if you have them. Also if you can, please no black soles. You can bring drinks, but no alcohol. There's a water fountain 2 hallways down. Now let's talk about wallyball! We had a very big group on Wednesdays, and it made me realize I should cap it at 8 so we can do 4 v 4 without a team waiting around. Hope that works with everyone! Please share if you have any other ideas. Feel free to invite whoever too, just make sure you add +1, or +2, etc. BASIC RULES: https://www.cedarville.edu/-/media/Files/PDF/Campus-Recreation/Rules/Wallyball.pdf?la=en&hash=211F27D80F5A14D9591D9B207D2344F2A0D673C6 We aren't following the points and team composition rules, due to the uncertainty of the number of attendees. And as someone best described, "we're street wallyball." Just not the violence. Feel free to ask any questions such as, "...is wallyball fun?" or "how are the conditions of the net?" Which the answer is, brand spanking new. Hope to see you out on the court! Andrew

Wallyball Sundays @ Eugene YMCA (All skills)

Eugene Family YMCA

Welcome, Starting in 2019 we'll be having 12 people max for Sundays. We'll be doing three teams of mixed four players. Two teams will play on the court while one is on standby. The standby team then will replace the losing team after the match. If a team wins two times in a row, they'll sit out giving everyone a chance to play each other. Then we mix up the teams again. When you arrive, please go through the front and say you're there for wallyball. You will be paying Jeff the $5 guest fee. Please bring cash. Please bring comfortable gym clothes and knee pads if you have them. Also if you can, please no black soles. You can bring drinks, but no alcohol. There's a water fountain 2 hallways down.
