Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge

This is an amazing spot to see wildlife! I often see ducks, Canadian Geese, Red Winged Blackbirds, Chickadees, Robins, Orioles, Great Blue Herons, Otters and fish. We will meet at the refuge parking lot in Concord. From Concord Center take Route 62 east for about 1 - 2 miles. Take a left at Monsen Road and follow it to the parking lot.

The plan is to meet at 5:45pm, mingle and wait for people running slightly late. We will leave at 6:00pm sharp and enjoy the great sites and sounds of the wildlife refuge!

This is an awe inspiring place to amble. Glad to now know of it! Too bad they don't allow dogs.

Hi! Thanks for a wonderful walk and great company! Just a follow-up...The dark snake we saw was likely a rat snake, and the long thin animal we saw cross the pathway and duck into the marsh was a river otter. I got these answers from a wildlife biology college student. Wonderful!
