I've re-opened up the last 10 spots. Since we hit the 40 volunteer minimum, they're not going to bring in another group to fill in our slack - so its just us.

The Heart of Florida United Way is 2.3 miles from the food bank. Simply take Shader Rd east to OBT & head south. Traylor blvd is a couple blocks south of Silver Starr. Or you can catch JYP south to Princeton & turn east - there's a sign on Princeton by Linx Ln to guide you into the united way.

What to wear

You will want to wear comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes. It will be hot in the warehouse. (Oh - The conference room where we have the pizza is usually cold.)

Schedule

8:45 am -Food Sorting - assemble at Second Harvest Food Bank

9:00 am - start food sorting

Noon - 1:30ish - Extreme Pizza Party - meet at the Heart of Florida United Way (2 miles from the volunteer site) for a brief tour of our local 211 facility (Tour guide, Michael McLaughlin) and pizza & sodas in the conference room reserved for us.

Notes:

Age Restriction - Children must be at least 10 years old to participate in the food sorting.

Pizza Party - I'll put out a jar - if you want to throw in a couple bucks to cover the cost, that's great. If you can't, that's fine too. If there's more $ than what was spent for the pizza & soda, the extra will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank.
