When endurance maverick Diana Nyad finished her epic 111 mile swim from Cuba to Florida, the Los Angeles based athlete returned home with a new vision. Diana and her Cuba swim expedition leader, Bonnie Stoll, launched what will grow to be the biggest walking initiative in American history. EverWalk (www.everwalk.com) is now reality, as Diana and Bonnie are leading public walks in all the communities of LA. In the meantime, they also invite us to walk 6.5 miles with them on May 20th in Atwater Village, on a walk to celebrate the development of a 51-mile no-car bike and walkway along the beautiful LA River. If sitting is indeed the new smoking, EverWalk aims to get us all up and walking in our neighborhoods, where we have the good fortune of enjoying the great outdoors all year long. Diana Nyad: "Come walk with us on May 20th! Let's lead America in becoming a nation of everyday walkers!"
