Patrice and I are participating with Obliteride 2020 to benefit Fred Hutch Cancer Research, pledging to ride 100 miles on our Bike Friday Tandem Tuesday, named Blue TwoCan. There isn't an organized event this year, but you can participate as an individual or a team on your own. There is no fundraising minimum requirement this year, but a $35 registration fee. if you are interested in donating, visit Obliteride.org, Donate, Give to a Team, Team Blue Twocan. If anyone is interested in a having a Team Evergreen Tandem Club, let me know. Obliteride ends Aug 8.
• What we'll do The Tour de Lavender is a beautiful ride starting in Sequim that visits 10 beautiful lavender farms. We will ride the Metric Century (2,000 feet elevation gain); there is also a great 35 mile loop that visits 9 farms. Much of the ride is on the Olympic Discovery Trail. We would love to see an ETC contingent at this fun ride. Registration is now open. There are numerous options for lodging and camping, but don't wait long to make reservations. We will organize a group dinner Saturday after the ride. For planning purposes, let us know if you are interested in joining us for dinner by June 15. Details to follow in a later post. Today at Jeff and Louise's wonderful presentation about self-supported touring in Europe several ETC folks asked about the tours we are leading this year through our not-for-profit tour company, Pegasus Bike Tours. There are 2 in particular that are still open which we believe are especially suited to tandems. The first is our Oregon Over and Back Tour at the end of July. We led this tour from our tandem for COGS (Cyclists of Greater Seattle). The other is our 4 - Day Fixed Base Chehalis Weekend Tour over Labor Day Weekend. We provide a long and short route each of the 4 days. All tours are fully supported. Check them out at http://www.pegasusbiketours.com/. Thanks, Ralph & Carol Nussbaum ETC Members on and off since 2001
