  • We're launching a cool new way for older people to meet new friends!

Details We need your help! Our group is aiming to create a community that will help its members make new friends for fun and useful activities. Want a walking buddy? Is there a new film you want to see, but prefer to go with a pal? Or even have a chat over a cup of coffee. Our target audience is 50+ adults. Facebook “friends” may be distant strangers. Meetup groups can take too much time to organize and are usually overly specific. This community will start out local, centered in Berkeley (and later grow in scope and geography.) It will use technology to do some of the organizing and planning work. This is an invitation for you to get in on the ground floor to help design how it will work. You will participate in testing the technology to make sure it is simple to use, and that it asks the right questions. We won’t be paying you, but we won’t ask you to contribute financially either. We are looking for 15 - 25 creative thinkers to start with. An information and planning meeting will be held in a private home in the flats of NW Berkeley. Accessible by public transportation. Date: Saturday, February 23, 2019 Doors open at 10 am. Presentation begins at 10:30 am. Wrap up at 11:30 am. Light refreshments will be served. Coordination: Brigette Iarrusso (www.embracechange.us) Because it is in a home, space is limited, so please sign up soon. More information and address: Deborah Malbec ([masked])
