Who is your favorite philosopher, and why?

I don't have a particular philosopher whom I enjoy or favor; I like to read material about the history, culture, events that surrounded the philosopher. I like to read how philosophers changed the course of thinking and ultimately, changed history. I enjoy the philosophers of the Enlightenment. I have enjoyed reading Julian Marias and T. Z. Lavine recently. I like to cross reference the authors for my own enlightenment. I like to compare the motives of men by studying their life, for example, Hitler and C.S. Lewis. I have collected several books to discover the differences in these two men and their life choices.....something I find fascinating.

What attracted you to join this group?

Where else to does a person go to find like minds?

How do you define philosophy? There is no wrong answer.

Philosophy is knowledge of life.
