Mackerel Fishing and late lunch in Beer

  • Anchor Inn

Fore Street, Beer, EX12 3ET (map)

  • This was a great success this year so we'll charter a mackerel fishing boat for twelve people from 1300 subject to the weather! The boat is £60 for an hour so £10 per couple; we pay the skipper cash on the day. It's great fun and when we did it before everyone caught several fish, although the seagulls are more than happy to pinch them from you if given half a chance! If we fancy a bit more time then we can always pay the skipper a bit extra on the day too.

Beer is a pretty village with a few nice shops to wander around before a pub lunch at the Anchor Inn.

We thought that we would meet in the Anchor Inn pub garden (opposite the pub) at around 1200, fishing from 1300, and have booked a table for six couples (12 people) for 1500 for a late lunch / early dinner.

Remember to bring some warm clothes as it can get a bit blustery on the boat even if its a nice, sunny day.

The best place to park in Beer is the cliff top car park above the village.
