2013 European Night of Museums!

  • May 18, 2013 · 8:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Dear Expats,

For the fifth consecutive year, UNESCO gives its patronage to the European Night of Museums organized by the French Ministry of Culture. UNESCO Headquarters will open its doors to the public on 18 May and give place of honor to the Republic of Korea, the Organization's partner for the 2013 edition.

The tour will begin with the presentation of a selection of Korean artworks from UNESCO’s collections, giving the visitor the unique occasion to see works which are usually not accessible to the general public. This will notably include works by Park Kwang-jin, Min Kyoung-Kap and Kang Ik-Joong.

The visitor will then have the chance to discover the modern architecture of the Organization’s Headquarters as well as part of its art collections, including works by Giacometti, Picasso, Miró, Calder, Erró or Chillida, among others.

The guided tours will take place from 8 pm until midnight (last admission), free of charge. Entrance at 7 place de Fontenoy (Paris 7th), exit at 125 av. de Suffren.

Visits in English, French and Spanish.

This event is organized with the help of Expats Paris

meeting at a bar?... I looked at my invite, which said 8pm Unesco, but no bar mentioned.

I am glad I am not the only unlucky one :D. An email was sent to everybody about rendez-vous at a bar with other details. I waited in English queue as well for more than 2 hours. I guess it is about time I will start checking my mails.

Friendly people! We waited in the queue forever for UNESCO though but it was interesting when we got in!

A - Lost and found : found an umbrella on our table at the bar, forgot to give it back to the bartender. I still have it. Black umbrella with a brown handle. If you think it's yours, PM me.
B - Thank you Michael for the idea, it was still a nice evening at the bar, in a nice place with friendly people. Cheers !

I turned up op on time (7.55) but so many people and where was the expat group? In the end I went by myself (I was in the English queue) and I had a nice time. But I recommend for future events to give a more specific meetup place or wear a yellow hat or something so that people can recognize the host.

Hey everyone, I'm willing to exchange phone numbers for tonight, so we don't get lost or isolated, ie this way we have at least someone to talk to if we come alone or are shy or whatever.
You know what to do. PM me.

Hello, I have joined yesterday since a spot opened up. Could you please confirm where we are meeting? Is it at the UNESСO at 20:00h, or at a bar? Thanks.

    1 · May 18, 2013

  • Michael

Everyone that registered with this group knows when, how and where we'll meet. The meeting details were communicated to everyone and, as per now, no changes have been brought to the earlier-given info!

Why can I not add friends to the event? Is it closed for meetups or it is closed event generally. What if someone does not show up on the night? Can my friends join

The only time I've seen Korean art-work before it was a bit unnerving. This looks cool though.

    Especially Ik joong kang:
