What we're about

This is a group for anyone interested in kayaking, canoeing, camping, bicycling, scuba diving, boating, hiking, climbing, and most outdoor adventure activities. Skill level depends on the meetup event (it will be noted on every event). One of our objectives is to make many event organizers so more and diverse outdoor activities can be created.

Small Motor Boat from Lake Apopka to Lake Monroe, Sanford

Lake Apopka North Shore

Planning on a trip from Lake Apopka to the landing at I-4 and Lake Monroe. Estimate 180 miles, 2 days travel, but 3 just in case. Will camp alongside the river in designated camping sites. Will travel through canals, lakes, the Ocklawaha River, and 3 locks to get to the St. Johns river near Palatka. Probably won't get through all three locks the first day, but will try. Yeah, lots of things to plan on, like enough fuel, break downs, food, drink, exposure, wind and weather. Piece of cake... :) This will be a rough and tough expedition. I originally intended to end up at Kings Landing in Apopka; up the Wekiva River and Rock Springs run, but maybe another day. I will have someone drop me off at the start and come get me once I arrive. But we can arrange a shuttle if necessary to leave your vehicle at the I-4 landing.

Glamping Mosquito Lagoon 4th of July 2020

Cape Canaveral

Glamping or camping (depends on how many luxuries you bring), on Island 13 (Eastwinds) on Mosquito Lagoon. You must have a way to the island like a motor boat, kayak or canoe. Note, its 5 miles from the nearest landing to the lsland. I will have a motor boat or pontoon with a couple kayaks for my crew. You are responsible for all your needs, ie: food, water, fuel, equipment. We might share a stove, but be independent! Issues camping in the summer are bugs, heat, sun, and killer manatees. Well maybe not the manatees. You will see them in the waters around the island. There is A/C on the island; its neck deep in the lagoon out front. More information about camping in the lagoon can be found here: http://www.dayo.com/mosquito.htm
