New Meetup: Holiday Potluck and Kirtan

Announcing a new Meetup for Experiential Spirituality!

What: Holiday Potluck and Kirtan

When: December 20,[masked]:30 PM

Where: Fairfax, VA

Come celebrate the holidays with a potluck and Kirtan!

Potluck: 5:30 pm
Kirtan: 7:00 pm

Kirtan is pure joy. We chant to relax our minds and open our hearts. We invoke Source Spirit God Consciousness by repeating mantras, names of the Lord, and other uplifting songs that take us to their source. The word 'kirtan' comes from the sanskrit "to repeat". We play harmonium, drum, cymbals, shakers, flutes, strings, etc, and the melodies and rhythms bring on both a meditative state and an ecstatic one! Singing in foreign languages is fabulous - the sounds in ancient languages like sanskrit, latin, hebrew have an amazing power to connect to the heart. The words are easy to learn, no worries! Bring your voice and your heart, and an instrument if you're inspired to, and come chant!

The Kirtan will be led by John Wozencraft.
