• Explore AI: Machine Learning for n00bs. Part 1/3.

    Lulofsstraat 55

Are you interested in machine learning, but have no idea how to implement a model? During this Meetup we'll explain some introductory machine learning concepts using the R programming language and show you how to implement them. Bring your own laptop to follow along. There are limited spots available. Practical information: the Meetup is held in the central hall of LabS55 at Lulofsstraat 55. It's a ten minute walk from Leeghwaterplein and a 15 minute walk from Station Holland Spoor and Haagse Hogeschool. 19:00 - 19:30 : Walk in and have something to drink. 19:30 - 20:00: First part of lecture/discussion. 20:00 - 20:15: Break. 20:15 - 20:45: Second part of lecture/discussion. 20:45 - 21:00: Hang out, drinks and discuss AI related topics. There is parking space in the street in front of the location. There is also free parking space in the street behind the fences. You are permitted to park here (it says you're not permitted, but I will notify security beforehand). If both are full, you can also park at Gamma, which is a one minute walk from the location.

  • Explore AI: Creating new Pokémon with Deep Learning!

Got to generate them all, Pokémon! Everybody wants to catch all the Pokémon out there, however there are just 807 to catch (at this moment in time). How do we solve this pressing issue!? We set out to create new Pokémon using Deep Learning! We'll use generative (GAN and Autoencoder), labeling models and regression models to create new Pokémon. This Meetup should be interesting for everybody regardless of your experience with machine learning. We will have some small deep dives regarding the techniques. • Explore AI: Spotify using Artificial Intelligence for Song Recommendations

How do companies make use of Neural Networks to improve their service? Find out how Spotify uses Artificial Intelligence to better understand your needs! In this Meetup we'll talk about how Spotify developed a new method to classify songs by teaching an AI to recognize music! As always, this Meetup is free of costs. Drinks and snacks will be provided. • Explore AI: The Science and Philosophy of Consciousness

In recent years we have seen an immense growth of intelligent systems. Search engines that seems to ‘know’ what kind of information we will be looking for, self-driving cars that outperform human driving capabilities, smart assistants that helps us in everyday tasks.. The list goes on and on and keeps on growing every day. In the landscape of artificial intelligence, we call these forms of systems ‘weak AI’. With each step we seem to be progressing towards ‘strong AI’. We might even wonder, whether or not these systems can become conscious. But what is consciousness? What do we mean when we say, “I am conscious”? This Meetup is intended for everyone who interested in the science and philosophy of consciousness. During this Meetup we will discuss these topics and invite you to participate. As always, this Meetup is free of costs. Some drinks and snacks will be provided. Practical information: the Meetup is held in the central hall of LABS55 at Lulofsstraat 55.
