XLB Christmas Eve: A Dive Bar Tradition

Remember when we used to hang out all the time? Back in the day when the booze was flowing, the men were handsome, and the ladies were loose? Yep. It's that time again. It's the holidays and time for nostalgia of auld lang syne. Whatever that means. No, really...what the hell does it mean?!
We've got a long-standing tradition around here to ditch our families and spend Christmas Eve whooping it up at one of our favorite dive bars. We've been doin' it since Rudolph was still wet behind the ears, and this year isn't escaping us.
This is one night you can mingle with friends, and who cares if you've never even met them before?! It's the perfect time to make some new Meetup friends--or reconnect with the auld ones. Come get kissed under the mistletoe (don't forget to bring your Chapstick) or bring Santa some "cookies" (Why, yes Virginia, that is a euphemism). All are welcome and no one should sit home alone when there's perfectly good booze to be drank! Come make merry with your XLB friends.

I will be collecting travel size toiletry items for Lydia House and Interval House (women's shelters in Long Beach) at this event. Please bring a few toiletry items if you can (Target, WalMart, 99 Cent Store, Big Lots, Rite Aid, Walgreen's etc. all carry travel size toiletries for around a buck each). Thanks :)

--Bring your ID. Even if you do look old enough to be our mom.
--Bring COLD CASH MONEY...the bartenders don't take no gruff and they don't take no plastic.
--They don't serve food, but they're pretty good sports about bringing in your own if you clean up after yourself.
--Bring your patience & holiday cheer...the bar will be cozily crowded.
--Remember to tip your bartenders well because (a) It's Christmas-freaking-eve, and (b) That's how we roll.
--Take a bus, cab, a good looking designated driver (or at least one with a good sense of humor), or your perfectly good feet...seriously. We mean business!

Larry the XLB group is the "only" true meetup parties in all the meetup....these crazy asses stay out late, late, late. That's why some us old timers look like old timers. I hope to pass by guys after we do our rounds with the families.

I'm in. I have no family here and I don't want to sit around my apartment. Haha, how depressing would THAT be? :)
