  • Small Mammal Survey

    Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary

Saint Paul is home to so much more than rabbits and squirrels! Participate in a small mammal survey and learn about the lives of urban wildlife. We will collect live traps from off-trail areas of the park and assist small mammal researchers from the University of Minnesota identify and record what we find. This is a great opportunity to spend some time outside in a beautiful park, learn about our mammal neighbors, and contribute to scientific study. Bring a smart device to become a community scientist and document our finds on iNaturalist. Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants must register as individuals through a MeetUp account or at http://bit.ly/mammalsurvey2019. This program includes about 1 mile of walking on trail, and small amount of additional walking off-trail to retrieve live animal traps. Participants may come into contact with peanut products.
