Let's walk the dogs - Long Itchington

The walk's a good mix of towpath on the Grand Union canal, a bit of woodland,  a disused railway, a green lane  and over fields with no livestock. One short section on a minor road. And it's just under 5.5 miles, with no hills. One stile, with plenty of space for dogs to go underneath.

Did a mini pub crawl (hic!) and the Two Boats are happy to have us and all the dogs. Plus the walk starts from their door (now). Menu at the 2 Boats looks pretty good - lots of pies from the same people who supply the Fleur de Lys in Lowsonford.

From Sharon:

Green Man is traditional pub grub, big garden at rear from memory i think. Duck on Pond, big green to front nr main rd. Buck and Bell is a bit gastro. There is also the Two Boats which backs onto the canal with seats outside, traditional pub group. Dont know who would let you in should it be cold and wet!! Im guessing Green Man or Two Boats!

Lovely walk - except that we can now add canal towpaths to Tess's list of things she is scared of, especially in combination with hearing shotguns! So will avoid other walks involving canals! Nice route though.

Hi guys ... so sorry. This was to be our 1st walk with the group, but Tim has just sold his flat and we need to meet buyers tomorrow. Just realised my earlier email went to a no reply address too, so apologies for late notice. Hope to meet up soon! Sue, Tim and Daisy

Please can everyone do the poll on summer walkies start times so that we're all happy and the dogs don't boil :-) And yes, I do realise that this is one way of ensuring that it rains from June to September...

I put plus one as Ron comes too but I always forget whether the plus 1 is for dogs or people!!! If so it's just one dog Skye!

I go to the Green Man fairly often but I've never seen a dog in there - that's not to say they're not dog friendly though!
