Sari Design and Block Printing Workshop

Have you wondered about the art of sari design and the history of Indian block printed textiles? In this one day workshop learn about the pigments, process, and about block carving and printing. The ancient process of Rajasthani sari design uses dyes taken from nature and involves a long and arduous process of preparation to create stunning blues, yellows, and reds. Learn and see a demonstration of the art of Badhani (Indian knot type) dyeing. This interactive workshop will go over the history of this type of art and will allow participants to try printing a woodblock themselves. Maximum 10 participants- people will be printing handkerchiefs and not scarves. She has shown internationally and nationally. This work is a heritage process for her as her great grandfather was in Indian textiles.
