This is a group for anyone who would like to learn how to enhance well-being through the breath.
Breath IS Life. This is not just a metaphor, but literally true. We humans cannot go more than a few minutes without breathing and still live. Our breath is so close to us that we tend to take it for granted and miss the full enlivening potential of the breath. There is more to the breath than merely keeping our cells alive. The breath is a doorway to greater well-being in body, mind and spirit.
This group is an introduction to breathwork: a highly personal, experiential process that uses specific breathing techniques to clear out physical, mental and emotional blocks or stresses. It taps into the body’s innate capacity to move toward greater health and vitality.
Come join our growing breath community. Learn and receive support to sustain a daily breathwork practice. What happens in a typical meetup:
There are anywhere from 6 to 12 people in the circle, a mix of new people and returnees. We begin with an opening meditation followed by a brief check-in. We teach or review how to do the basic circular breath - the foundational breathing technique for a daily practice. After questions and discussion, we breathe on mats to music for about 30 minutes. We end with people sharing their experience in the circle.
