Wednesday Night Climbing
Our main regular meetup! Every Wednesday from 7 we all get together for a chilled out climbing session at the Redpoint Climbing Centre. Come along and you'll meet plenty of new people to climb with across a wide range of ability levels. If your new to climbing we offer a taster session involving a mix of bouldering and roped climbing - if you like it and want to progress you can either get some lessons from Redpoint or join the club and we'll show you the rest. After climbing we usually go for a quick drink at the Bull around the corner and plan the next adventure! Costs The club doesn't charge anything for our Wednesday night climbing sessions. However Redpoint climbing centre do charge. Check out their website here for their prices -

What we're about

Who are we?

We are friendly, laid back group in the West Midlands that connects people with a love for outdoor sports including: Surfing, Mountain Biking, Climbing, Kayaking, Hiking… generally anything where you get to throw yourself about a bit, get dirty, get wet, and generally have fun.

What do we do?

Club night is on a Wednesday at The Bull in Aston where we chat about upcoming activities. Those into climbing head to Redpoint every Weds before the pub from 7pm. That has become so popular we now also have a second night a week for climbers who can belay - Experienced Mondays.

We go on regular trips away for climbing, surfing and mountain biking amongst others, plus regular socials and other events. All ability levels welcome! Member organised events are encouraged and are generally organised on our Facebook group - If you want to do something post on their to find people to do it with.

How ESC works -

ESC is a non-profit BMC affiliated club. We aim to break even over the year and for most events we don't charge at all. Many members organise their own events via our Facebook page, and if you want to do something your welcome to post on their to find like minded people to join you.

Costs (such as Meetup) are mostly covered by club membership fees of £20 a year. Membership is optional for you, but essential for the club to keep running. Membership also covers your BMC membership and insurance and provides discounts at a wide range of outdoor stores. BMC insurance is essential if you climb outside with us, although your first two trips are covered under the BMC "prospective member" rules.

If you want to join up to become a full member with all of the benefits just click on the link on our website here: (

The club is run by a committee elected every January, and membership runs from 1st of January every year.
