Intermediate+ Tennis Friday: Slocan or Windermere
Courts are 1st come, 1st served so please help me claim a court by being early/on-time. I'm coming from work downtown so I will be there 5pm! Ravi is there a bit earlier so if you can make it, please join him to practice serve/returns. THANKS :D VENUE: 4 tennis courts on E29th Ave and Slocan St. Use this map because meetup is crap with locating https://goo.gl/maps/deEsEotxT732 Backup Plan: In case Slocan is busy, there's Windermere Secondary which has 5 courts (bad shape though!) which is a 1km or 12-min. walk from here. Map https://goo.gl/maps/MfNMhmNw7dF2 NOTE: Michael kindly told me that Metro Van tennis meetup has a permit for 3 out of 4 courts on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30pm for their beginner classes. This means only the NE court (the rightmost court if you're facing from the Skytrain platform), is available for public use on these days. The organizer might be there early to setup the ball machine so please arrive on-time to help us re-claim our court again. Usually there is also a coach teaching from there (outside of meetup). If it's too busy, we'll move to Windermere so look at the map or wait for me at Slocan and let's walk to Windermere together.

What we're about

Welcome to ESV Social, now the #1 most active group in Canada! Do you want more excitement in your life? Are you looking to make new friends and do fun stuff? Join us! Check out this promo video we made for our group a few years back:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzBIvG2FQo0&feature=youtu.be

The great thing about this group, and the reason for our success, is we encourage our members to actively plan events! Members who have attended at least 1 event are welcome to post an event of their own as long as it doesn't conflict with any of our group policies which can be found here: policy page (http://www.meetup.com/Extremely-Shy-Looking-for-friends/pages/Group_Policies/). Just contact Ian or another group organizer to get set up with event hosting access. Businesses who would like to share their events with our members are also welcome to contact us for sponsorship opportunities.

What about our group name? The first thing that comes to many people's minds when they see "Extremely Shy- Looking for Friends" is: Do I have to be extremely shy to join this group? NO: People of all levels of extroversion and introversion can be found in our group. Many of our members are not shy, and many more have largely overcome their shyness since joining our group. That being said, I know what it's like to be very shy and i know that signing up for your first meetup event can be scary and intimidating. Part of what this group is about is making that first step as easy for you as possible. Shyness is not something that anyone here will judge you poorly for. And if there's anything we can do to make it easier for you to attend your first event then please let me know by sending Ian a message.

Thanks for joining. See you soon!
