We are a group composed of volunteers. We are NOT a professional organization or pro trail guides and/or pro event organizers. However, as a group of friends and acquaintances, we will look out for each other. The organizer and any/all assistant organizers and other attendees are in no way responsible and liable for your personal safety and health state, before, during, and at any time after this event. By RSVPing "Yes", for this event, you acknowledge that you fully understand and accept the aforementioned conditions and following event attendance conditions and, you are solely responsible for your health, safety, and well-being before, during, and at any time after the event as stated previously. All attendees shall forever hold harmless the organizers and other attendees and unconditionally waive any liabilities resulting from attending and/or participating in this event.
The organizer(s) reserves the right to turn away any member who shows up without RSVP, is unprepared, and/or is ill-equipped to handle this event. Please read the instructions carefully and come to each event prepared.

Duration: the part requiring stamina:
A- No more than 4 hours of average hiking time at a slow to medium pace.
B- 4-7 hours average hiking time at a medium to moderate pace
C- More than 8 hours average hiking time at a fast pace.
D- More than 12 hours average hiking time, fast-paced, into less traveled areas. For very fit and experienced hikers only.
Difficulty: the part requiring strength and skill:
1- Gentle gradient, rolling terrain.
2- Moderate gradient, occasional fairly steep but short sections.
3- Prolonged steep gradient, some scrambling and/or bushwhacking may be required.
Elevation Gain (cumulative): the part requiring fitness:
A- Up to 500 m
B- 500 m to 1000 m
C- 1000 m to 1500 m
D- Over 1500 m

We're going to hike Theta Peak. Please join this hike if you're interested in hiking in a group not separated from the group. As always, having a good conversation can be even more pleasant than the path.

• Attendance:
  Please finalize your attendance 24 hours before the hike, and in case of more than 2 no-shows, you will have less chance to join future hikes! Please don't bring any guests! (Your guests need to join the meetup event individually)
• Carpooling: You can offer or request carpooling with an $8/hour rate in the group's comments. Please don't post long chats in the comments, instead of using direct messaging.
• Fitness:
  Please be aware of your level of fitness and compare it with hiking info and if you're not sure, please talk with the organizer about it.
• Safety:
  Your face should be visible in your profile in case of emergency. Please make a family member or close friend aware of your hiking plan and your location before the hike! If you need medicine or you have a medical condition, please be prepared before the hike and talk with the organizer about it! We try to have a suitable pace for everyone and will care for each other on the hike, but at the same time, everyone on this hike is fully responsible for their safety and the organizer doesn't have any responsibility for any incident.

  By going on this Meetup event, you acknowledge and agree that you are participating at your own risk and are entirely responsible for your own safety getting to and from the trailhead, on the hike, and during the course of the event. In case of accident, illness, or other incapacity, you agree to pay for your own medical and/or evacuation expenses, whether or not you have specifically authorized them. You also verify that you are in good health and are physically capable of carrying out this hike. Therefore, you agree to release the Meetup Group, the Organizer, the Meetup Host, and any affiliate from any and all liability for any loss, damage, expense or injury which may arise out of participation in the Meetup event, including during transportation to and from the event.

Join me for a casual stroll around the seawall. We will start at the U statue. (to me it kinda looks like a rib cage); I will wait 8 minutes for everyone to arrive. If you arrive chat with the others. We walk along the waterfront and make our way to Granville Island. As far as I know, there are no washrooms along the way; there is one wasrsooms possibly near science world. The next bathroom break will be when we arrive at Granville island, so keep this in mind if you would like to you can join me for lunch at the Granville Island Market place. There is pizza, fish and chips, veggie express, and so much more. For the people who are on the waitlist, you are more than welcome to join us; sometimes people drop out at the last minute.

Parking: there is parking along beach ave (but you will have to come back for your car). Maybe $2-6 an hour. Please note I say it will only take us two hours, but it all depends on our speed, it could take us longer.

What to bring: good walking shoes, warm clothes, water bottle, rain jacket (if it rains), snacks you might get hungry.

If you RSVP yes and then change your mind, please update your response. This way, I can offer your spot to someone else on the waiting list. If you say yes and do not show up, I will flag you (Yes, I have done this before) as a no-show. All of the other organizers will see you have been flagged.

By RSVP, yes, you agree to the risk in an outside environment. The organizer is not responsible for any injury you acquired before, during, or after the event. We are a group of volunteers and not professional tour guides. As friends and acquaintances, We will look after one another.
