The Sacramento Mountain Bike Skills Park is under construction on a back lot of the Township Nine development between N. 5th St. and N. 7th St. up by the river levee. Randy Spangler of IMBA and Terry Cox of College Cyclery are designing and building the park, starting with a pump track. We will also be working on a single track around the perimeter this Saturday.
You should bring gloves, boots, water, sun protection, and tools if you have them (McClouds, Pulaski, rakes, etc.). Lunch snacks, water and beer will be provided. However, you are encouraged to bring some for the morning if you feel the need.
The location is literally right on the river, and it's going to be a hot day, and there is even a small beach, so folks can jump in the river to cool off. We plan on starting around 7:00am to beat the heat. Work as long as you want, however, we do plan to stop by mid-afternoon.
To get there, take Richards Boulevard to N. 7th St. Go north on North 7th from Richards, pass the apartment building, go all the way around the traffic circle and turn on to the dead-end street and go to the end. It's the last right off the traffic circle but ends up being the equivalent of a left turn of N. 7th if there was no traffic circle.
