Evolve For Animals Benefit @ Vegan Drinks

EVOLVE FOR ANIMALS ( is a grassroots nonprofit organization that unabashedly advocates for the total and unfettered rights of non-human animals through education-based outreach events such as tabling, leafleting, public speaking engagements, film screenings, and vegan soup kitchens to name a few. While other organizations may focus on the treatment of animals, EFA presents the case for animal rights from the perspective of use and commodification where any and all impositions on sentient life is defined as violence, and veganism is the proposed solution.

Last year, in our first year as an organization, we launched our education-based website which reached over 9,000 unique visitors and prompted over 32,000 page views. We tabled Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Earth Day Celebration and the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple’s “Three Acts of Goodness” Festival. We organized outreach efforts at the Prudential Center, Columbia University, Grand Central Station, and Times Square which lead to the cumulative distribution of over 14,000 copies of our “Veganism and the Case for Animal Rights” literature, 5,000 copies of our “NYC Vegan Restaurant Guides”, and 3,200 pro-vegan stickers. We hosted a “From Veterinarian to Vegan” Letter Writing Party which presented 180 veterinarians across the United States with an unequivocal message about the moral imperative to adopt a vegan lifestyle, and a book drive which resulted in copies of “Vegan Freak: Being Vegan in a Non-Vegan World” being permanently placed on the stacks of 17 public libraries and high schools.

It is a humble beginning, but one that we feel blessed to have been able to initiate. In our next year, we wish to multiply our efforts tenfold. So far, we have expanded our social networking multi-media content, leafleted at Columbia University, and are slated to host outreach events at Astor Place, Temple University, The Liberty Bell Center, and Central Park, and are beginning to organize outreach at the college campuses of Yale, Harvard, Bucknell, UPenn, and Brown. We are even collaborating with Loving Hut to bring a Vegan Day Summer Festival to the general public in New Jersey.

However, as a grassroots organization, we can only continue our work with your help. Your support is critical in our ability to bring this message to the masses in the articulation and manner that we do.Thanks to our friends at SuperVegan, we have been named the beneficiary of the August 29th edition of the highly-popular Vegan Drinks. Come out and enjoy the company of some like-minded folks and enjoy the drinks, music, raffles, and prizes. Not only will it be sure to be a good time, but your presence will help support this important cause.
