    Local historian Bridget Striker will speak on the persecution of a Universalist church in Boone County for their support for the underground railroad. As the Universalist church later combined with the Unitarian church, this program should be of interest to the congregations of the other Unitarian churches in town as well as anyone interested in the area's history in support of abolition.

    Our June speaker is an administrative director in a large religious health system in Cincinnati. He will explain why religion is so prevalent in healthcare and go over some of the religious rules that restrict certain types of care as well as how religious ideology prevents healthcare providers from giving certain types of care. Nathan's presentation will include personal stories related to religion and healthcare, how the two intertwine on the topics of fertility, abortion, stem cell research, and how we can keep humanism in healthcare. is an administrative director in a large religious health system in Cincinnati. Prior to his healthcare career, Nathan served on the board a local religious continuing care retirement community. He also served on the board of the Child Friendly Faith Project, an organization dedicated to educating on and preventing religious child maltreatment.
