FLorida Atheists and Secular Humanists, Ft Lauderdale Weekly Meetup

  • 5 days ago · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

It's time for all good Atheists to come to the aid of reason, logic and rationality. Let's get together to stop "believers of absurdity" from stealing our country.
We have to reach out to other Atheists and grassroots organize to protect science education, the separation of church and state, stop the "Fundies" from making our country a theocracy and show everyone we can be proud of our Atheism, Secular Humanism, Freethinking and Skepticism.
Visit our website and sign our guestbook, buy a t-shirt, buy a book. The monies collected help fund our outreach and community involvement projects.

As usual, our meeting will be at Geronimos in Davie. You can get there from I-595 by heading south on University Dr. approx. 2 miles or from Griffin Rd heading north on University Dr. approx. 2 miles. It is in the University Park Plaza behind the Pier 1 imports.

NOTA BENE!!!!!>>>>  The numbers of RSVP's NEVER reflect the actual numbers of participants.  We ALWAYS have 15 to 25 members present!  SO, don't be discouraged, many of our members have been coming for years and don't RSVP!  Come and enjoy a superstition free evening!

This is the first atheist group I have attended. I had assumed the conversation would be about the challenges faced as an atheist but it was about anything but that. I don't have a lot of interests other than atheism and politics and I am not crazy about talking about politics right now as I am still smarting after the election, but everyone I talked politics about was well informed and that was a nice change from discussions I typically have with people with viewpoints based totally on blind support.

How fast did carbon-14 become carbon-12 5,000 years ago?

Yes. The best chance to influence people is to meet with christian "apologetics" and argue the atheist position. here is prep material! You will NEVER get ANY other religious sect to have an open conversation.
