Music Appreciation **Intermediate Guitar** Thursdays 6-8pm, West City, Room 212
Free guitar classes for intermediate students after receiving enrollment code (given by instructor) offered by the San Diego Continuing Education Emeritus program. Students must enroll in order to take the course. This class is open to students of all ages but is catered towards 55+
Learn chord structures, 7th chords, theory, scales, and improvisational techniques that can be used in multiple genres of music!
Must be able to bring your own guitar and tuner!
This class is being taught by San Diego Music Award Winner, Nicholas Costa from the Sure Fire Soul Ensemble, MY MYND, and IN MIRRORS.

Nicholas Anthony Costa is a musician and composer from San Diego, California where he has been playing guitar for over 13 years. While studying Business Management Economics and Music at the University of California, Santa Cruz, Nick has continued his music career as a featured guitarist in the University of California, Santa Cruz jazz ensembles as well as with other Southern California bands including the Sure Fire Soul Ensemble, The Mighty 388s, Bill Caballero's Latin Jazz Ensemble, and Organically Good Trio featuring members of Slightly Stoopid. He has been involved in the San Diego Actors Theatre company, performing music for the plays, "Fiancée in a Box," "Mastor Harold," by Athol Fugard, and has worked as a guitar soloist for their "Salon Series." Nick finished his master's degree in music from San Diego State University in 2013 and is currently the guitarist for San Diego Music Award winning band, The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble. Known for his technical and innovative style on the guitar, Nicholas brings an energetic performance to the stage leaving audiences wanting more. When not performing, Nick teaches music at Mesa College's Continuing Education Department and regularly composes music for both film and television including recent San Diego Emmy winning film, "The Sumner Redaction" as well as the film, "Tea Party." Nick Costa continues to perform, compose, and produce in the greater San Diego area constantly striving to create new music from jazz hip-hop to orchestral scores and everything in between.
