PHOTOGRAPHY 101 - JUST THE BASICS

  • 3 days ago · 2:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Thom Hogan wrote an article a while back that's still very relevant today regarding the urge to upgrade your camera equipment when it's really the photographer that needs to be upgraded. You can get the latest, greatest camera, but that doesn't mean your images will improve. Learn how to get the most from the equipment you have - UPGRADE THE PHOTOGRAPHER.

We're going to cover what's called the EXPOSURE TRIANGLE - how aperture, shutter speed, and ISO function and how they work together. It's basic camera functions that can be applied to any camera you use.

We'll review basic camera functions, then do some shooting to get some real world experience using those functions.

Because this is a hands-on workshop, we're limiting this to only 2 attendees at a time.

Knowledge Level: This is a BEGINNER -level workshop

Learning Objectives: By the time the class is finished, you'll be able to not only understand the functions and controls on your camera, and you'll know how to get the kind of images you want.

Equipment needed: Feel free to bring your camera, lens, and tripod (and keep in mind that you're responsible for the gear you bring)

Physical Requirements: Mild to Moderate - we sit for the first part and may wander around for the last part

Other: The weather is unpredictable, be sure to bring a jacket, umbrella, and protection for your gear

I learned some critical fundamental principles I've heard it all before but Jay put into a framework so it makes sense. I'm new to the area So it was especially helpful to hear about this group.
