Friday Dinner

Pulido's is always a great place to eat, especially if you want legendary margaritas and quesadillas! I have reserved a "party room" for $25, so a $1 donation from each person will be requested to offset that cost when we meet.

Had a great time at Pulido's. It was great getting to meet all of you. Looking forward to next time.

Is it possible that somebody helps introduce me to the group next time? I'm pretty introverted when it comes to people I haven't met before. Anyways, have fun!

I don't normally get everyone's attention when each new member shows up, but I will personally come up to you to say hello and welcome you to the event. No need to worry about socializing with this group; we are all very talkative! :-)

Hi Michael, as a "recovering introvert", I'm empathetic. I'll try to look for you and introduce myself next time. Yesterday was my first dinner, at the next one I'll be happy to introduce you to several really nice people I met last night. If you think of it, contact me here before the next dinner, so I don't forget. :)

Here's how much fun I had last night. A few weeks ago I went to Dallas to see 2 of my all-time favorite bands and got so wound up for the entire 2 hours that I thought I was going to give myself a heart attack. The next day, I found out that the groups would be ending their tour in Oklahoma City on May 16th - just a three-hour drive north. I wanted to go so desperately, and when I finally made the decision not to go, I was sure I'd be dying inside while trying to have fun at the dinner. But once I got to Pulido's, I didn't even think about the fact that I was missing the concert. BOOM.

Sorry there making me work late

Everyone please remember to contribute $1 for the reserved room tonight. If we do indeed have 25 people show up, that works out perfectly.

Have been trying to make the last few events, FINALLY the stars have aligned. I'm ready for a margrita!! (or 2)

    May 15, 2014

    • Robert

Be careful: if you haven't been to this place before, you'll find that even 2 small margaritas will knock most people out :-)

      May 15, 2014

    • Robert

But of course, there will be lots of time. I'm definitely having 2... or a large one...

My wicked step-daughter decided she would not attend this friday.

    1 · May 12, 2014

    • james C W.

She had decided she was not going to talk to anyone, pre-deciding she would not like anyone. That does not necessarily mean she will not show in the future however.

That's really unfortunate. It's exactly that type of judgement/pre-formed criticism that I seek to overcome. And while I won't bend over backwards in the hopes that someone likes me or our group, if they're at an event I've scheduled I want them to feel welcome and to have a good time - which comes from BEING SOCIAL...

    I will try to attend.

Cool! Welcome to the group; see you tomorrow, hopefully...

Have fun all,,,will catch you later. Will be in Virginia at the event of the season,,,,,,our granddaughter's ballet recital. See you next time.

I am guessing we still have our regularly scheduled last Friday of the month meeting.

    April 29, 2014

      Yes, but location TBD.

Who knows what nefarious machinations go on within the mind of a wicked step-daughter. If she wants to come it is on her head if she does not even try to enjoy herself.

    April 29, 2014

  • susan O.

James, hope it works out better for your step daughter this time. Rob has a great idea, regarding finding out what she would like to talk abut. It's a difficult situation for all. Mark and I tried very hard to engage her in conversation, but she just turned away. We were sitting on the end, so it made it a little uncomfortable for us too. Good luck

Hi Franklin, welcome to the group!

      April 29, 2014

  • susan O.

Mark and I will not be able to make it. Will be in Virginia for our granddaughter's ballet performance. Have a great time and hopefully we will see you at the next one.

    April 29, 2014

    • Robert

Okay, be safe and we'll catch you at the next event!

      1 · April 29, 2014

  • james C W.

I will most likely make it. I suspect my wicked step-daughter will tag along again and complain about it afterward. I really don't know why she wants to come.

    April 29, 2014

    • Robert

Is there anything we can do to make her feel more welcome? I ask because I want everyone who attends to have a good time, and while we don't have to go out of our way to accommodate her, let us know if there's anything she likes to talk about. Or I can just ask her...
