Friday dinner

Why won't the site allow me to make this a repeating event??? Oh well. Obviously this is just a few days after the "big day" (which, if it actually did happen, took place around August/September) but I imagine a few of us non-believers will show for it.

Now we know that for future meetings I'll have to set a limit of 15 people to the one table we have. If more people wanted to come we could set up more tables but they'd have to be in the other part of the restaurant.

We had a great time...wonderful to finally meet you, Chris!
Also, thanks to Jim for bringing the mead...it was fabulous once again, and so nice to meet your wife. I hope she will be able to come back next time.

I had a great time, too, especially toward the end. Sorry I wasn't a better conversationalist - I would blame my scratchy throat, but that would just be a cop out: I'm just generally a quiet dude.
Thank you, Rob, for sharing your story. I could hardly have asked for a more pleasant 2nd meetup with you all.
Jim, your mead is sublime - I am impressed beyond my ability to properly articulate my gratitude, but THANK YOU!
Missed you, Candace - will bring your Bill Hicks DVD again next time.
I look forward to seeing you all again next month!

Just made the reservation and they said we can bring whatever we want as far as drinks are concerned. Yes! I'll bring a red wine (most likely a chianti) and a riesling for after the meal.

Hey Rob ~ great info and yes, I do live on the north side. The fact that they have wine makes it that mhch better! Question .... How will I spot you guys?

We usually have a somewhat secluded room with one long table; the place is usually empty and I've just reserved that part of the restaurant so they'll have it all set up for us. It's at the far side of the room from the entrance.

Ok, well, I joined the Free Thinkers here around 2007 and have always had a good time no matter what event I attended. I started the Friday dinners last April/May and since the restaurant of choice went out of business a few months ago, we've carried on at Roma's since it's also nearby (if you live on the north side). I rarely plan an agenda or subject for discussion so we typically just get together to meet & greet and have fun while getting some darn good food for a really good price. Oh, and they have wine and liquor - not a great selection, but just letting you know they don't allow BYOB.
