For 2018, FAB Now is now an event of Texas Makers Guild - at http://www.texasmakersguild.org.
We had a lot of good input again - we've taken all that into account in the design of FAB Now 2018 - the hours it's open, what things happen which days, the rooms it's in, the topics of presentations, what we do for workshops and professional development/continuing education, the folks that webcast in to us... yep, everything!
• What we'll do
What will happen? Well, anyone - and everyone - that is a MAKER, wants ta be a MAKER, is an Educator (K-16, including pre-K/early learning), or a 21st Century Librarian or Library Staff/Educator, or Entrepreneur/Start-up/Small Business Owner/Artist, Artisan/Craftperson or DIY'er? Well, those and lots of other "categories" of folks will have an opp to interact with those of "like interests," and those of truly beneficial, disparate interests - 'cause the beauty of "being together," is about diversity-of-expertise, attitude, means by which we all creatively problem-solve - yep, it's about... connection. FAB Now has, for years now, been about - connection. 'Nuf said. Be with us, you'll see!
• What to bring
Just...themselves! (But please do be advised, this isn't a "big funded" event, so there's some coffee/tea and water, but largely, please do rely upon TCC's cafeteria/coffee shop - maybe one day, maybe it'll be different, but right now - it's about "being together, under one roof, MAKERS all!"
• Important to know
FAB Now 2018, both Continuing Education/Professional Development (Friday 2/16), and The FAB Now Conference and Maker EXPO, and the Maker Social/AfterParty are all still free-of-charge this year - but please do REGISTER - we want to be respectful of room capacity limits! You can register from a LINK on The Texas MAKERS Guild website: https://txmakersguild.org/ (you can also see Saturday's program/schedule here as well!)
Late-Breaking Schedule Adjustments:
Please note that Friday, 2/16 is our Day of MAKER Education - a professional development / continuing education opportunity for K-16 teachers, Public Library educators, Home Schoolers, and all others interested in "Learning-by-Building," Hands-on experiences, constructivism, project-based learning, visible learning, and more...
Saturday 2/17 is our more traditional MAKER Conference and EXPO - and there's still room for Makers to exhibit at the EXPO, thanks to the particularly flexible space TCC has assigned to FAB Now 2018 - we do need to know you're coming though, for purposes of honoring room capacity limits - yes, please do REGISTER (it's all still free this year, thanks to our gracious Sponsors!) Go to The Texas MAKERS Guild site for a REGISTRATION Link https://txmakersguild.org/
Thanks, see ya at FAB Now 2018?!
