Time for Dinner & a Movie, so let's go the Grand Budapest Hotel. Movie is $12.
Filmmaker Wes Anderson makes movies that are eccentric, pointedly artificial and, to his fans, very funny. From his early comedies "Rushmore" and "The Royal Tannenbaums," to last year's Oscar-nominated "Moonrise Kingdom," Anderson's movies have looked and sounded different from everyone else's in Hollywood. And critic Bob Mondello says that streak continues with his spoof of extravagant 1930s melodramas. It's called "The Grand Budapest Hotel."
Review: Fiennes' best work. He's hysterically funny, and his supporting cast is also incredibly solid. Wes Anderson has such an amazing sense of style - his shots/locations are just beautiful. From Anderson's catalog, I would give Moonrise Kingdom a slight edge, but only slight. Definitely stay throughout the credits - the music is infectious.…
For those interested we will gather at Flat Top Grille at 5:30 for dinner before the movie. Movie time is 7:00pm at Sundance Cinema, located at Hilldale Mall. If you are not joining us for dinner, meet in the lobby area at Sundance Cinema at 6:45pm so we can buy tickets together, and head in to see the movie together.
I know Sundance is a bit of a pain, as their assigned seating process makes tickets for a group a bit challenging, but they have the best show time for a mid-week movie. Hope to see you there!
