What we're about

The main purpose of this meet up group is to put together players at a"3.5" level and above to play mixed doubles tennis and have fun. Although matches can get competitive, we rotate out partners after each set so that everyone gets to play with different people. Our players are of all ages from recent college graduates to parents with kids in college.

New players are always welcome. Please note however that our members want to play those with similar abilities and this meet up is not for beginners. Most of our players are 3.5 players with several at the 4.0 level. If you are not sure what your level of play is, please feel free to drop in on any Sunday to try it out.

Players are also expected to bring and open a new can of balls at least once a month.

There is a $5 annual fee to cover the costs of the monthly fees that Meet-Up charges to maintain the website. All new members have a 90 day trial period.

Since we play on Fairfax County Schools courts, we cannot reserve them and that is why we play only on Sunday mornings and Holidays.

There are normally 5 courts available to play on Sunday mornings, sometimes less. If more players show up then there are courts available, then the registered players showing up first will be permitted to play. Therefore if you see more than 16 people signed up to play, it is suggested that you arrive early.

We will play year round as the weather permits.

This meet up plays year round weather permitting. If gets to be too cold or the courts are too wet, I will do my best to post a message on the meet up board, so please check right before you leave your house. The main purpose of this meet up group is to put together players around a "3.5 to 4.0" level to play mixed doubles tennis. Our players are of all ages from recent college graduates to parents with kids in college. New players are always welcome. Please note however that our members want to play those with similar abilities and this meet up is not for beginners. If you are not sure you are good enough to play, please show up and try us out for a day. Please email me if you have any questions. After a short warm-up, everyone will be divided up into groups of 4 by picking cards. After all groups complete their set, we divide up again. There are 2 Rules to this Meet-Up: Rule 1 - You must play with someone new after each set. Rule 2- please bring a new can of balls at least once a month. Don't worry about signing up if there are an odd number of players. If we do end up with an odd number of players, we will divide the group up to play Canadian doubles and / or rotate people in and out. In order to cover the monthly dues that Meet-Up charges to maintain this website, all regular members must pay a $5 annual fee (pay by credit card or paypal). All new members have a 90 day free trial period before billing begins. Any excess funds will be used to purchase extra balls. There are 5 courts and a practice court, so the sign up limit is 20 people. If there are more than 12 players signed up to play, please try to show up 10 minutes earlier so you can help us reserve the courts. Note- these are public courts and are not reserved, because of this we normally only play on Sunday mornings and Holidays when schools are closed.
