Bike To Work Day

From: user 2.

May 15th is bike to work day and there are three BIG IFs about it ...

(( Quick yapping Dave and take me to the event's webpage: ))

IF you're thinking this is a crazy idea, it probably is - for you - and I challenge you to get out of your comfort zone and bike, bike, bike to work. Actually, Lori challenges you as she will take the lead on this event.

IF you're already hip with the idea of biking to work, then you get a bonus on the 15th! You see, there will be many pit stops in the area, usually with raffles & freebies. And no matter if you're already a bike commuter or if you're going to give this a first try... everyone who registers gets a T-shirt!

IF you're not really close to our area or if the 7AM start doesn't work for you, you can use the bike to work website to find other common starting points & times where you can become part of a "commuter convoy". There's LOTS of other information on the website, including bike valet, taking your bike on metro, other bike festivals, and more.

    How to get started
  • If you're not sold on the idea, find a friend to join you (or shame you into it).
  • Check out the details and register here:
  • Meet Lori at the South Fairlington Community Center a little before 7AM on the 15th
  • Start biking to work promptly at 7AM.

Lori is going to Freedom Plaza, the largest of the pit stops. You can follow her there, or choose your own stop, perhaps one closer to your office. Each pit stop will offer breakfast, entertainment, dynamic speakers and chances to win bicycles and other prizes. Please be sure to register with your pit stop location to be eligible for prizes.

If you have any questions about this event, please contact Lori through the meetup site.

See the event on the calendar:

When: May 15,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Fairlington Community Center
3308 S Stafford St

If the changes affect your plans to attend, please take a moment to update your RSVP. (You can RSVP "No" or "Maybe" as well as "Yes".)
