Lets get some fresh air and get the blood pumping.
Rescheduled to 3/10/13 from 02/24/13
Thanks to a few Facebook friends (Fitness over 40 - they are on facebook), I became inspired to kick things up a notch in my life and dedicated to being even healthier.
I'm adding free low impact, family fitness programs to the FOAC starting with long walks and building up to walk / runs, and EVENTUALLY - 5K Runs. Those of you that are joggers will just love it. HEck, you can even give us newbies some tips. Please give us some tips
You don’t have to travel far to enjoy the best of Michigan’s great outdoors, with Kensington Metropark, one of the most popular parks in Michigan. Kensington’s 4,481 sprawling acres of wooded, hilly terrain surrounds beautiful Kent Lake, and is home to an abundance of wildlife and waterfowl. Kensington Metropark offers a multitude of recreational activities throughout the year.
Lets journey along a 4-mile paved hike-bike trail extending from Kensington Metropark’s Milford Road entrance to the Village of Milford. (Meet at the farm parking lot as identified in the How to Find Us section above).
Afterwards, those with energy to spare can check out the farm. We can check out the baby pigs who have grown so much since birth just a few months ago.
What to wear: I recommend you dress in layers to be prepared from a day like today. Kinda warm, yet kinda cold. Shoes should be comfortable for a 4 mile walk.
What to Bring: Snacks if you like, water for sure
Entrance Fee: Metropark pass required. Daily fe is like $4.00 annual is $25.00
From Detroit, take I-96 west to Exit 151 or Exit 153. Large signs at both exits direct you to park entrances.
