Join us for a special library family event featuring award-winning Professional Ventriloquist, Meghan Casey! The Rocky Mountain Puppets presents Space-A-Cade!
Meghan has been exposed to puppets since the day she was born, literally. Growing up, her dad read books to her while using puppets and ventriloquism. At 5-years-old, she discovered the magic that brought these characters to life. She really wanted to learn how to do ventriloquism, so she completed the Maher Course of Advanced Ventriloquism by the age of 6-years old. Instantly, Meghan fell in love with performing and making people laugh and has been performing for the past 18 years.
Our Cottonwood Concert Series kicks off with the folk music of Jill Cohn. Join us at the library for a special performance of Oprea Unlimited's rendition of Jack and the Beanstalk!
The story of Jack & the Beanstalk possesses just the right larger-than-life characters for a children’s opera. With an adventuresome boy, his sweet mother, a giant and his beleaguered wife, and a mysterious trader in magical beans, the English folktale moves along with energy and personality. With that in mind, professional opera singer and director John Davies used the music of English operetta composer, Sir Arthur Sullivan. Sir Arthur’s music is highly accessible, lots of fun and always healthy to sing.
Opera Unlimited seeks to promote appreciation and understanding of music, especially opera, by introducing it to children throughout New Mexico.
