Welcome to Laff Out Loud Toastmasters.
Toastmasters is an educational organization dedicated to helping people improve their communication and leadership skills in a mutually supportive and positive learning environment.
What makes us different? Laff Out Loud Toastmasters is the only District 28 Club dedicated to the serious business of humor in speaking.
Our typical meeting begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. and lasts for approximately 1½ - 2 hours.
At the beginning of our meeting, you will be asked to introduce yourself to the group and tell us how you found out about our club. During the meeting, members and guests will use the word of the day to build our vocabularies, get a humor tip, have the chance to tell a short story or joke to ‘warm up’ and practice impromptu speaking with an exercise called Table Topics. As a guest, you may participate in Table Topics if you wish. You will also have the opportunity to hear prepared speeches and evaluations of those speeches. At the conclusion of the meeting we will ask you what you thought of the meeting.
Each part of our meeting is timed. You will see a green light at the minimum speaking time, a yellow light at the middle speaking time and a red light when time is up. A speaker will then have 30 seconds to conclude their talk.
One of the members at your table will be happy to guide you through the meeting and answer any questions you may have. Please ask about what Toastmasters can do for you.
