  • NEW! NEW! NEW! End of Summer Gastropub Adventure Ride to Eat-Eat to Ride Series

The new bicycle/pedestrian bridge in Jim Thorpe opened 8/12/18 so we ventured up there and found a handful of wonderful gastropubs to check out. We had so much fun and with the Summer Riding Season winding down and the days already getting shorter we thought we'd switch up our Thursday Night Adventure Ride and add a new twist - a gastronomic destination! There are 5 weeks until Fall officially begins so we're going to celebrate the last weeks of Summer with a celebratory beverage and light meal stop on each ride. We will sample a different restaurant/pub in northern lehigh/northampton each week and mix up the routes to keep it interesting. START/END LOCATION IS SLATINGTON TRAILHEAD OF THE D&L TRAIL AND START TIME IS 6:00 PM. Since we'll be stopping for 30+ minutes be sure to bring front/rear lights for the ride back to the trailhead. Plan on approximately 2 hours of ride time depending upon daylight and conditions. Pace will be social 12-14 mph on the flats and slower on the climbs. We'll regroup often, take breaks as needed and no one will be dropped. Riding surfaces will consist of asphalt roads, gravel roads and cinder rail trails. No single track, but there may be a few hills (hey! it's Pennsylvania - what can I say?) As the days get shorter there will be less road and more trail. Helmets and front/rear lights are required. Bring water and cash/debit/credit cards for your meal and a tube for your bike. Be prepared for a fun ride and a good meal that you get to start to burn off on the ride back! Generally rain cancels. Check back here by 4 pm day of the ride for updates/cancellation notice. NOTE: Ideal bikes for these rides will be gravel/adventure bikes like Trek's Checkpoint or Salsa Fargo, road bikes with 28c or greater tires, mountain bikes with skinny tires or flat bar road/adventure bikes like Trek's FX. Questions? Not sure you or your bike will work for this ride? Call or text Jean at[masked] or Marco at[masked]
