Join us for our first Sydney Female Influencers in Tech launch meetup on Wednesday 27th November from 5:30pm hosted by Contino.

This event will be your opportunity to hear from inspiring leaders who will share their experience of working and leading in the tech industry.

Drinks, nibbles, and some great conversations will be available at the event - we hope to see you there!

🎤TALK 1: Love what you do – lessons from 30 years in tech
Even if your career path is a clear freeway to the horizon, you’ll still have moments of doubt, indecision and panic. You’ll likely make some bad choices and plenty of good ones. You can take from this talk the tools and truths to give you confidence to seek support, be a support to others, and build a more inclusive workplace wherever you are in your career.

About the speaker:
Kate Andrews, Engineering Lead at Tyro

Kate's an empathetic leader of leaders, focused on growing high-performing, anti-fragile engineering teams. She's currently leading Payments Engineering at Tyro.

🎤TALK 2: Observations on a career in technology
Kate has a very successful career as a technologist, marketer, entrepreneur, educator and blogger. Kate shares with us her journey and the qualities needed to be successful in IT.

About the speaker:
Kate Carruthers is Chief Data & Insights Officer for UNSW Sydney, and is also an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer Science & Engineering. She is a Certified Information Security Manager and is currently undertaking postgraduate studies in cybersecurity. Kate has extensive experience in senior roles in ICT, marketing, data and digital; and is a member of the NSW Government’s Data Analytics Centre Advisory Board. She is co-founder of several startups, including IoTM, and currently advises a number of startups.
