What is your profession?

I am currently the Managing Director of Engineers Are People Too. We focus of training, consulting and coaching STEM professionals in a variety of areas. Generally, we stress the soft management and leadership skills necessary for employees to thrive within an organizational environment and venture beyond their technical training and expertise. Throughout my career I have met too many STEM professionals who never imagined needing management and interpersonal skills -- part of the reason many went into STEM professions -- but who have moved up in their organizations to the point of having to lead and manage a team. A daunting challenge for the best of us. We like to think of it as changing our clients' perspectives and looking at the challenges differently.

What do you aspire to be?

We aspire to expand our reach and ability to connect with STEM professionals who may need a little help in getting over their current obstacles and moving from a position of "surviving" to "thriving".

What career help are you currently looking for?

We are looking to expand our network of clients, contacts, and organizations that have a similar perspective on the value of engineers and their hidden talents and passions.

Introduction

My background is in transportation planning, civil engineering, and construction management across a variety of industries including consulting eng'g, municipal projects and utilities. Now I focus on STEM training and leadership development.
