All The Money In The World
I'm listing meetups for several different films - all will be cancelled except one, we'll watch the one with the most RSVP votes. Please RSVP for more than one - whatever you'd like to see. We'll see the one which wins the vote! I won't know the times that the films are on until Tuesday 16th January but it will be a showing which starts between 8pm and 10pm. I'll be asking you to send me the ticket money if you want me to get you a ticket so we can sit together (or buy your own if you prefer) once we know which film and when. If you want to see a trailer for the film, check out the clips on All The Money In The World Based on the extraordinary true story of the kidnapping of a billionaire oil magnate’s teenage grandson, All The Money In The World is a gripping thriller from legendary director Ridley Scott. “To be a Getty is an extraordinary thing. We look like you, but were not like you. It’s like were from another planet, where the force of gravity is so strong it bends the light.” Paul Getty (Charlie Plummer) is not like other teenagers. His oil tycoon grandfather, John Paul Getty (Christopher Plummer), is not just the richest man in the world, but the richest man in the history of the world. So, when Paul is kidnapped in Rome and held to ransom by a gang of masked men, you would expect the matter to be quickly resolved by a family who has all the money in the world, but this just isn’t so. John Paul Getty is a notorious miser, and making him part with his cash is no mean feat, even with the fate of his favourite grandson hanging in the balance. Paul’s devoted mother Gail (Michelle Williams) must take it upon herself to try negotiate a deal that will leave her son unharmed while appeasing his captors. Despite the mobsters becoming increasingly more volatile, Getty vows not to part with any of his cash, and instead sends his security man Fletcher Chace (Mark Wahlberg) to deal with the situation. Teaming up with Gail, the unlikely duo find themselves in a desperate race against time. Ridley Scott (The Martian) directs this captivating thriller, which analyses the lasting value of love over money. Charlie Plummer (King Jack, Gully) stars alongside Michelle Williams (Manchester by the Sea, Venom) and Mark Wahlberg (Daddy’s Home 2, Deepwater Horizon). Rotten tomatoes rated this 77 with an average review of 7.0/10 and an audience rating of 73%.

What we're about

Public Group

We organise trips to the Vue cinema in the Oracle, Reading to see latest release films, usually with a meal beforehand and drinks after.

We are also a place for people to suggest and announce other social events like talks, theatre or comedy night trips.

If you have an idea for an event you'd like to have listed on this site, please let me know. You should have a date and venue in mind (not just a vague idea that you'd like someone to run something) and you have to be sure that you (or some other named person) will be there to co-ordinate others coming along.
