This monthly Meetup addresses FilmTech enthusiast from all walks of life.
Our aim is to develop an interdisciplinary FilmTech community at the touchpoint between the film industry and the start-up & tech world.
BlockchainHub Berlin (https://blockchainhub.net/) & Propellor FilmTech Hub (http://www.propellorfilmtech.com/) just partnered and will be hosting a series of meetups around the question of Blockchain for filmmakers and the film industry.
The Propellor | FilmTech Meetup Berlin is an event of the Propellor FilmTech Hub.
Shermin is the founder of BlockchainHub and runs BlockchainHub Berlin. She is on the advisory board of the Estonian e-residency program a curator of the DOA and regularly speaks at conferences and consults on Blockchains & Smart Contracts. Shermin did her PhD in IT-Management at the Vienna University of Economics, where she used to work as an assistant professor and currently lectures blockchain related topics. Furthermore she studied film and drama in Madrid. Her past work experience ranges from internet start-ups, IT consulting & filmmaking. Among others her films have screened in Cannes and at dOCUMENTA.
Shermin will give a blockchain & Web3 intro for newbies and will explore possible applications of the blockchain in the film industry: how might the blockchain impact distribution of audiovisual content, the revenue streams or the rights management? How might ICO’s be used as a financing tool?
Director of Strategic Business Development at ARRI
Wolf is Director of Strategic Business Development at ARRI, the world’s leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of digital cameras, digital intermediate (DI) and lighting equipment. An innovator at heart, he has shaped the German post-production landscape as managing director of Das Werk and launched and build ARRI’s cutting edge Berlin Mitte operation. He now oversees the development of new business activities at 100 year old ARRI. Wolf is based in Berlin, father of two kids, loves bicycle racing and is a recipient of the Red Dot Design Award.
Wolf will speak about how a company remains innovative for as long as 100 years and how a manufacturer of highly complex physical devices expands into the digital sphere.

Greta & Starks are two apps that enable people with sight or hearing loss to experience fully accessible cinema. Greta whispers audio descriptions, Starks plays subtitles and also includes foreign language subtitles for an international audience.

As a contact point for media professionals, the Desk advises on funding possibilities and assists with funding applications.
BlockchainHub is a network of decentralised hubs that act autonomously, but share the same vision and goals. We advocate blockchain, smart contracts and the decentralized web to all stakeholders in society: we explain the technology, showcase use cases, organize events and host working groups around interdisciplinary topics.
