Kriya Flow http://www.rykyoga.com [masked] Yogic breathing, or Pranayama, revitalizes the body, steadies the emotions, and creates great clarity of mind. Pranayama is subtle but very powerful and a vital part of yoga practice. The more we become aware of our breath, the more we are able to calm the mind. In this class, you will learn how to breathe correctly in order to facilitate the flow of Prana (breath/ life force energy), learn pranayama techniques, yogic philosophy, and how to incorporate pranayama into asana (posture) practice. Pranayama class will greatly benefit your yoga practice because more awareness of our breath expands the quality and experience of our yoga practice and life. No previous experience with pranayama or yoga is necessary. Both beginners and experienced practitioners are welcome! After practicing daily for two years, in 2010 she chose to train to become a Vinyasa Yoga Teacher. Inspired by her Vinyasa training to resign from her full time job as a high school English teacher, Sarah began teaching Vinyasa classes regularly while continuing to teach academics on the collegiate level part time. In 2013 Sarah enrolled in a Hatha Teacher Training with her mentor Jody Domerstad and was again inspired to change her life, moving from New Jersey to Las Vegas, where she continued her growth in the RYK Kundalini Teacher Training Program, graduating in July 2017. Sarah is also a certified Level 2 Reiki Practitioner. Today Sarah enjoys teaching all styles of yoga, which including Pranayama, Yin, Vinyasa, and Kundalini. Sarah’s yoga classes are a dynamic flow of energy and spirituality. She incorporates all of her backgrounds to create a class that is both purposeful, and physically enjoyable. Her classes are enlightening and fun. Her passion lies in giving dharma talks that mindfully link to the breath work and poses that she is teaching for each particular class, making each lesson a valuable learning experience, not just an exercise.
Vinyasa Flow is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath. Vinyasa Flow is a more complete type of yoga class, as it typically moves through all of the various asana families ( i.e. standing postures, backbends, forward bends, etc. ) This class is suitable for all levels of practitioner, from beginner to advanced. Modifications will be given to allow beginning yogis to build a strong foundation and for more advanced yogis to expand their practice and asana expression.
