Let's go further afield and check out a spot in Long Beach for delicious Southern-style food, fun conversation and to usher in summertime.
Some favorite brunch items include: short rib poutine, fried chicken and waffles, mac-n-cheetos, and shrimp and grits. They also feature a cocktail menu with a lot of the classics. All served up in a charming 1920's Craftsman-style bungalow.
Parking is available on nearby residential streets. Wear walking shoes for the "hike" to and from the restaurant.
This spot does not take reservations for brunch so I'll get there ahead of the group to put our name in, to minimize wait time for the rest of the group. I'll be wearing a blue and pink scarf.
