This is a group for those that want to be able to compete in obstacle races like Tough Mudder and Spartan Race but are out of shape and need to work towards it. This will be geared towards the beginner/intermediate level that have always wanted to do it but thought there was no way (can't even do one pullup) or they are too out of shape (can't run even a full minute) or too heavy (10-50 pounds). Instead of couch to 5k it will be like couch to obstacle runner. We will meet and train for key components that make up most races and lose weight, get fit, and create amazing friendships along the way. We can meet over dinners or happy hours (yes we will be having fun along the way) to exchange workout ideas to prepare for meetup days, nutrition advice, recipe exchange, support and accountability. This group is for all shapes, sizes, colors. This group is not for you if you are judgemental in any way, worried about breaking a nail, are easily offended, or not serious about getting in shape (by serious I mean showing up and putting in all of your effort). We will meet at local parks and wherever else we can find to do our training. Definitely open to ideas on other free meetup locations that we can use. Only two group rules :)
Rule 1: If you RSVP "yes" we expect to see you there. Don't bother with excuses why you didn't show up. No one believes you anyway. First no show you will be removed.
Rule 2: You must be an ACTIVE participant. Join because you are ready now. I know we can't all go to everything and most people have families and hectic schedules. In the very least be active in the comment section. Those inactive for 2 months will be removed.
Rule 3: This group is not a place to sell your supplements and health and wellness products. All training will be based on a philosophy that has no room for these products.
