Hi! I am your host and organizer my name is Johnnie. I am a certified fitness trainer and nutritionist. This is a group for beginners who want to improve their fitness. We will focus on running but incorporate many other fitness and nutrition events. Many runners and beginners to fitness choose to workout alone, but lots of us know there are huge benefits to working out in groups. Participating in a group can accelerate your level of motivation and passion as well as challenge you with friendly competition. In addition to improving your cardiovascular fitness you will be meeting like minded individuals!
The aim of this group is not to break any time or distance records, but instead to simply get your heart rate increased during a short run and begin to improve cardiovascular health. This is not a group for advanced athletes. This group is for beginners, but you should be able to run in some capacity. Consider this your intro to running, fitness and nutrition! We will focus on keeping a steady and slow pace that we all can handle. I will be providing guidance on cooling down and stretching. In total you can expect to spend about 15-30 minutes running and another 15-20 minutes cooling down. I will also stick around for about 20 minutes to answer any questions and provide additional guidance on your fitness goals. Total run event time will be approximately 1 hour. Events will be held weekly on Saturdays and Sundays. The primary location for run events will be Nomahegen Park in Cranford, NJ. All events will be held in the Union County area.
