  • Third PebbleMEL Meetup

    Collective Campus

Hello everyone, I think we're well overdue for another meetup, especially considering all the exciting developments since we last got together. • Pebble Packages • Clay • SDK 4 • Pebble 2! We may even have a developer edition watch on hand to geek out over. • Rocky.js We can have an open format this time around. Bring along any projects you're working on and we can discuss what you're doing, give each other suggestions etc. Thank you to Collective Campus who are as usual very kind and offering us use of their facilities. If you have any questions or suggestions for this or future meetups then feel free to reach out to me. See you there!

  • Second PebbleMEL Meetup - Community Demo and a Guest from Pebble

Hello everyone, welcome to our second meetup! This time around one of the local devs, John, will demonstrate xDrip (http://stephenblackwasalreadytaken.github.io/xDrip/), a project he's working on with the Nightscout Foundation (http://www.nightscoutfoundation.org/). xDrip is a DIY Open Source project that records data from a Continuous Glucose Monitoring System (CGMS), and allows remote monitoring of people with Diabetes. It consists of a CGMS, a DIY bridge circuit, an Android app, and optionally some free cloud based services to allow others to monitor remotely. The xDrip Pebble watch face places the data within easy view for a person with Diabetes to monitor. We will also be fortunate to have with us an Aussie working at Pebble who will be coming back through Melbourne. Keegan will talk to us about Clay (https://github.com/pebble/clay). Clay is a JavaScript library that makes it super easy to add offline configuration pages to your apps. All you need to get started is a couple lines of JavaScript and a JSON file, no servers or HTML required. After the last meetup, I put the challenge out to anyone who could, between now and the upcoming meetup, create an app and demo it in front of the group. Give it a go and you could win a Pebble Time! Agenda 6:30 - Arrive, meet & greet, grab a drink 6:45 - Clay by Keegan Lillo from Pebble 7:15 - Food 7:30 - xDrip by John Stevens from Nightscout Foundation 8:00 - Community demo & win a Pebble time! Wrap up, mingle, hang out. As usual, we will have drinks and some snacks throughout the evening as well as some Pebble swag. If you have any questions or suggestions for this or future meetups then feel free to reach out to me. See you there!

  • First PebbleMEL Meetup

    Collective Campus

Hello everyone, Great to see so much interest in the group! Our friends at Collective Campus will kindly host our first meetup in January. Being the first meetup it would be a great opportunity to get to know each other and see what everyone's up to here in Melbourne. A basic agenda, • Meet & greet fellow Pebble developers and enthusiasts • Marwan's story of how he got involved • Building simple and connected watch faces by Marwan and Peter Summers (bring your laptop to play along!) • App demos by local developers - Moon, Location & Weather by Peter Summers • Ideas for future meetups We will also arrange some food and drinks, Pebble swag and raffle away a Pebble Steel! To build the watch faces we will use CloudPebble. If you'd like to set up an account prior to coming in you can do so here (https://cloudpebble.net), otherwise it should only take a minute to set up during on the night. Looking forward to meeting everyone after the new year!
