Peter K. and I---and, maybe one more person will assemble at the usual place Saturday at 7 a.m., drive to Sedona and do yardsales for a few hours--head to Camp Verde for the best Chinese buffet in all of beautiful downtown Camp Verde---then, head out on Salt Mine Road almost a mile past the end of the pavement---up a side road to the right that ends in "J", good clearance required---or, getting out and tossing rocks out of tha way. A couple hundred yards after the quarry (which has running water and a spring catchment) is the trailhead for Goat Camp Spring and Hellhole Trails. We go in a mile---to a stream crossing where we will camp. I have two trees where I set up may hammock. Peter has a nice comfy, soft + flat granite ledge picked out. A few dozen steps before the stream crossing is a wide spot in the trail with room (barely) for two people. Or, up the Hellhole Trail to a gentle slope under shady liveoaks but far from the water. here, we will camp at least two nights with a choice of dayhikes---up the Hellhole Trail or up the Goat Camp Spring Trail to where two valleys join for a wide area and you can hike up either or follow a trail up the ridge between valleys---that, probably goes up out of the area. All this is in the Cedar Bench Wilderness Area.
One person can ride with us if they like yardsales and Chinese buffet.
Others may join us after those activities---either that day or the next.
