Bell Trail Hike

  • to
  • Flagstaff. W. Walmart parking lot/lower end

2750 W Woodlands Village Blvd, Flagstaff, AZ (map)

    35.176067 -111.664619

  • I'll be driving a silver Honda Civic. I have long hair now.
  • We will meet at the west side Walmart just off Woodlands Village Blvd and car pool down to the Trailhead.  The trail goes for 11 miles.  However, will just go 4 or 5 miles in and then back.  The weather looks nice so bring 2-3 liters of water, snacks/lunch, and a hat (I had to come up with 3 things).  If you are brave and part polar bear, bring a swim suit.

I wish I was still able to do hikes this long. I might be able to go in 4 miles---but, not back out!

Hi Mark, how far/long is the drive to the trailhead? I would like to go but also have other things to get done on Sat so I've gotta figure out if this will fit in my time budget.

Just moved here so I don't have any gear but would be willing to hike if it comes to that

Rachel, you can rent snow shoes or skis for reasonable rates @ REI just FYI, or if you are affiliated with NAU and belong to the NAU rec center, you can rent snow shoes for even cheaper than REI. I just got back to Flag myself (NAU alum) and was pleased to see the gear rental area on the lower floor of the rec center.

I'm possibly up for a hike depends on time and location.

I'm in for a hike, can't do the snow shoeing or skiing options though. :(

I fly back into town late on the 9th, but I'll try to make it.

It doesn't look like there is enough snow to do any XC skiing in any flatter areas. I'm leaning toward hiking in the Verde Valley--maybe Bell Trail? We wouldn't have to hike the whole thing. http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/coconino/recreation/hiking/recarea/?recid=55234&actid=50

I could get in on this. I have one extra pair of snowshoes someone could borrow if we end up doing that.

I'm in! I'd prefer to ski, but we'll see.
