• Food Choices and Climate Change - A talk at the Sedona Public Library, June 15!

Hi Flagstaff Vegans! I'm giving a talk in Sedona June 15, 2 to 4pm, showing that the latest SCIENCE tells us that a vegan diet is the very best thing you can do for the environment (that includes greenhouse gas emissions, water and land usage, and wildlife health). This is a talk for the general public, so it'll be in layperson terms. Please come and learn about the facts so you can help spread the vegan message! AND, I'm sure I could learn from some of you too! I'm not an expert in this field, just an avid, professional researcher into all things vegan. So come on out even if you know all this stuff so you can help me be a better activist!! I'm sure I'll be having a beer somewhere in Sedona before the talk, so let me know in your RSVP if you want to join me for that too! :)

  • Whole food, plant-based potluck! Keeping it health-conscious with WFPB newbies.

North Country HealthCare - Flagstaff (4th Street)

We're having another whole food plant-based (WFPB) potluck at the North Country Health Care campus. WFPB means food that is whole, unprocessed foods, so little to no extracted oils, and of course totally vegan. ("Processed" as in blended is okay! For example cashew-based sauces.) This potluck will be attended by several people learning how to improve their health with diet through nutrition classes. Let's show them how DELICIOUS whole, plant-based food is! For this potluck, we'll be demo-ing batch prep and batch cooking to save time and money! Win-win-win! :) We'll be in the NCHC Community Room. Go in the main entrance, turn left and follow the hall to the end. Hope to see you there!

We're having a whole food plant-based (WFPB) potluck at the North Country Health Care campus. This potluck will be attended by several people learning how to improve their health with diet through nutrition classes. Let's show them how DELICIOUS plant-based food is! We'll be showing a very short film and doing a plant milk tasting like at the Earth Day festival! :) We'll be in the NCHC Community Room. Go in the main entrance, turn left and follow the hall to the end. Hope to see you there!

  • Earth Day festival! A chance to outreach about our FOOD'S environmental impact!

Is anyone up for helping me plan, set up, and man/woman a table at the Flagstaff Earth Day festival? I'd love to educate people with real data and real science about how their food choices impact the environment. The latest science shows that the very best thing anyone can do to reduce their environmental impact is to GO VEGAN! Please respond and we can make plans. This is how we save Earth. Thank you! The leading source of greenhouse gases is animals and their waste, More than half of the water in the U.S. goes to water crops to feed animals, Forests are being cut down to grow crops for animals, Ocean dead zones and water contamination are from fertilizer and animal waste runoff, On and on! Please help me respectfully educate others (and maybe yourself) and make people aware of the data. Most people aren't exposed to this information so they don't know the true impact of eating meat, dairy, and eggs.

I highly highly recommend everyone to attend the Sedona VegFest! This is the most amazing celebration of plant-based eating and vegan lifestyle, with an incredible lineup of speakers. This year it includes Dr. Joel Kahn, a world renowned cardiologist, Robert Cheeke, vegan bodybuilder and wonderful speaker, and Fiona Oakes, an ultramarathon runner featured in Keegan Kuhn's new documentary Running For Good (which is amazing!) https://runningforgoodfilm.com/. Lots more wonderful speakers will be there too, cooking demos by excellent chefs all day both days (!!), and a chance to see films and discuss them with the filmmakers! Early bird registration ends Dec 15. You can also sign up to volunteer to help out! http://healthyworldsedona.com/volunteers-2019/ I'll be volunteering, and I'd love to meet some of you there. Let's let each other know who's attending and hopefully we can MEET UP! :)
