Cameras & Coffee for Beginners and Intermediate Photographers

Building on our success with the Monday night series of Lightroom and Photoshop Study Groups, we're proud to introduce our camera series of FREE study groups.   The groups will be limited to just 10 members to insure that each members has access to the instructors and can get all their questions answered.

Tonight is for the beginners and intermediate level photographers that want to learn what histogram is and how does it work, how does Auto Focus work, what is P, A, S, M and all the other exposure modes.  Maybe you want learn about the different menus, or what specific buttons or dials do.  Or perhaps you need to know how to take the best children photos or portraits.  Whatever you need, no question will be left unanswered.

Please bring your camera if you have specific camera or lens questions.  There is internet access, but computers are not required.

The meetings are hosted by Tony's Pizza and we are not charged for meetings at his establsihment.  Please show your appreciation by purchasing a drink (full service bar) or ordering a meal or snack.

There is FREE parking behind the building off Laura Street and parking on the street is FREE after 6 PM.

Once again, this was an outstanding meeting. Jeff explained why we should leave our white balance setting on AWB, and why shooting at a[masked] ISO made sense. Lew corrected the settings on my Rebel Xsi, and showed me how to set it for Bracketing/Continuous Shots. I anticipate much better quality in my shots, this coming week. Jeff and Lew break digital photography down into simple and understandable explanations. They dignify all questions, and provide patient answers. Afterward, Jeff helped me understand my zoom lens a lot better.

Sorry for the last minute change, I won't be able to make it tonight. See you in two weeks, have fun.

Is this just the one week on this one, unlike the Lightroom, which is every other week?

This alternates as well, with one week Beginners and Intermediates and the next week Intermediates and Advanced users. It's not a class, it's very informal Q&A session.

I need to start making this a priority again, and could use the refresher. Being a care giver now, it takes more effort to take time for me. So, I'm putting this on my calendar. Looking forward to it.
