Weekly Nikon Shooter Showcase

I always thought the vapor trail came directly out of the rear of the engine, but it looks like this plane has dual exhaust pipes!

Thanks Mike. Fuel vents sound scary. I think I need to go to airplane school and figure out how planes work.

Jim, all airplanes have them, as pressure and temps change or if they need to lighten up fuel vents overboard. it could be water vapor, but if they just took off I would guess fuel.

Thanks Mike. I've lived through all the emission control additions to American cars and lawnmowers and have to admit I'm surprised they still let airplanes off so easy. And I thought the worse thing about living near an airport was the noise. I took a series of photos as he gained altitude and the vapor trail went away.

I used to live about two miles north of TIA in the flight path of the west runway. I constantly had a sheen on the windshields of my vehicles, I always suspected this. Nice shot by the way.
